Application Requirements

When you apply for membership and inclusion on our approved list, we will undertake a number of tests and measures to ensure you meet our membership/inclusion criteria. We want to build a quality membership. The size of our database is less important to us.

  • Companies
  • Partnerships

We do not accept

  • Hobbyists
  • Unproven freelancers, Companies or Partnerships

Standards Compliance

W3c Standards adherence is important. Standards are a measure of quality and sustainability and we want visitors to the BWDD website to feel confident of quality work when they have dealings with freelancers or companies on our approved list. If your own home page has errors, please fix them before submitting your application. If you don't agree that these standards are important, then this site is not for you.  Please feel free to use the website tools to check your site.

We also ask you to specify all the Standards you are able to observe (such as accessibility) and Functionality of Work. We may need further evidence of these if they are not readily evident on your website or in your Portfolio or references and as such we may need to contact you.

References

As part of our application form, we ask you to provide details of two past customers, who we can contact for customer service (satisfaction) references for your work. If you do not provide these, or if you do not provide sufficient detail, we will be unable to process your application. We do of course request that you ask their permission for us to contact them. We will only contact them for this purpose and we will never abuse the trust you place in us when contacting them. If you would like to know the type of questions we ask, please contact us.

Timescales

Because all applications are approved manually, we ask that you bear with us in processing your application. We endeavour to approve applications within a week.
